This annual, often several hundred pages in size, usually has a few good pictures of uniforms in it. From the 1970 issue:

On the cover, first time published, is a Ludwig Nieper (1826-1906) portrait of his son as a major and Divisions-Adjutant in the Saxon Artillery, about 1900.

Lieutenant of 1. Leibhusaren Regiment Nr. 1.

Eckert lithograph of grenadiers and drummer of the Royal Hannoverian Garde-Grenadier-Bataillon, c. 1830s.

Paul E. Rattelmüller watercolor of a captain of the Royal Bavarian 1. Jäger-Bataillon with his wife, 1824.

In the late-nineteenth century hyper-realistic style influenced by photography, the 6th and 7th Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiments attack the French at Balan, Sept. 1 1870, by Carl Röchling.

In the style of social realism, Gebirgsjäger at Narvik, 1940, by Herbert Agricola.

A staple of the Jahrbücher is lots of flags.
