Re: Dominican Republic uniforms WW2?
A book at my local library called "Trujillo, the last caesar" ,which was about General Rafael Trujillo the president and military ruler 1930-61,mentions that he was a keen admirer of the U S marine corp, and by the late 1950s the army had an outdated appearance with campaign hats and leggings (leather/canvas?). I would guess they wore similar uniforms to the pre revolutionary Cuban army-US supplied kd shirts ,breeches and campaign hats.No photos included in the book,so i can't confirm this. Paul.

One image Sean had up on the front page of this site a couple years ago had a Dominican soldier dressed in US style khaki drill uniform, probably US Army or USMC surplus, with canvas leggings, cartridge belt, and a 1916 or 1918 German Stahlhelm(possibly supplied by Mexico?).
