Italian Army WWII

This may be of interest to someone, I believe them to be correct and taken from MAA353

The rank badges were worn above the left breast pocket.
Commissars were green other officers red.
Senior ranks 9cm x 7cm patch with gold metal stars and gold metal leaves and outer 4mm gold braid border.
All other Officers had silver rank badges..
1, Comandante Generale.
2, Vice Comandante Generale.
3, Capo of Stato Maggiore Generale.
4, Commandante Addetto.
5, Commandante Regionale.
6, Vice Commandante Regionale.
7, Capo di Maggiore Regionale.
8, Addetto Regionale.
9, Commandante di Zona.
10, Commissario di Zona.
11, Commandante di Divisione.
12, Commissario di Divisione.
13, Vice Comandante di Zona.
14, Vice Commissario di Zona.
15, Capo di Stato Maggiore di Zona.
16, Vice Commandante di Divisione.
17, Tenente igs.
18, Capo of Stato Maggiore di Divisione.
19, Commandante di Brigata.
20, Commissario di Brigata.
21, Commandante di Battagione.
22, Commissario di Battaglione.
23, Aiulante Maggiore di Brigata.
24, Ufficiale Addetto di Brigata.
25, Commandante di Distaccamento.
26, Ufficiale Addetto ad altri comandi.

The ranks don’t translate or compare to British/American ranks. A basic guide would be:
1 to 8 Generals.
9 to 16 Field grade.
17 to 26 Junior grade.
27 & 28 NCO’s
Any mistakes in the Italian put down to my ignorance.
