Estonian Army Ranks from 1936

May be a little hard to see but it gives a general idea!
The 1936 army regulations uniform was similar for officers and cadre non commissioned officers and other ranks, volunteers and conscripts doing their regulation military term had a different style uniform. The uniform remained was a greenish shade khaki in colour.
Ranks were removed from the shoulder and placed on the cuffs.

The highest non commissione rank was that of Deputy Officer with two wide chevrons of 10mm in thickness, this was a wartime rank which ranked below Ensign.
IN1939 the three NCO ranks were expanded to six
This is where it gets a little confusing as officer candidates ranks in theory could have a single star or two stars and also regular officer candidates differed from reserve candidates.
Aspirant corporal one star as the junior sergeant, Aspirant junior sergeant two stars and Aspirant senior sergeant three stars. Active Service Officers School candidates wore the double chevrons but could have one or two stars.
Branch Colours in 1936,
Infantry steel grey,
Artillery red,
Cavalry white,
Armour red,
Admin brown,
Border green,
Medical and others worn the colour of whatever unit they served in after 1936.

Thanks Bill. Estonian Army rank insignia from the 1918-40 period is something my collection was missing so this is a welcome addition

Would you happen to have any details on the navy. or the army before 1936?

Before 1936 the ranks were on the shoulder and I believe followed the Russian system as their first uniform were Russian, later British only after 1924 getting their own. Still looking for more details as I’ve only seen a few old pictures that don’t give up much detail.
