Spanish uniforms WW2 ?

Post  Raja on Sat 27 Oct 2012, 8:14 pm

Hello ,

does anyone know of any websites that show the Spanish army 1939-45 ?

I think they replaced the tight "grandero" trousers with baggier trousers and short canvas anklets/ gaiters.

Ranjit.

Spanish Uniforms 1939-1945

Up to 1943, the uniform cut is the same than in the pre civil war period. The 1943 dress regulations set a cut-of-the-cloth close to the german fashion, changing the footwear to leather boots a litlle shorter than the geman model for rank and soldiers, and keeping the canvas anklets in some cases. Officiers wore high leather boots. For summer or colonies, still wore the "alpargatas", a canvas shoe, laced, with vegetal cord soles.
Colonials-Regulares an Legión- kept it up to the same date, but 1943 changes were less evident.
